Here is a direct link to the “Press Release Template” for the 2011 show exhibitors and below are the instructions as to how to customize it for you so that you can send it to your press list. Click here to download now.
1. Delete the word TEMPLATE.
2. Include your name and contact information on the press release.
3. In the RE: section include only the shows that you are participating in. Delete the other show locations.
4. In the headline make sure to insert your name and the correct show. Other headline options include: - John Smith Selected as a 2011 Exhibitor for the Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show - John Smith Announces Participation in the 2011 Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show - Local artist selected to participate in the 6th Annual Milwaukee Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show
5. The city and state should be the city and state you reside in.
6. Make sure the date is changed to the date you are sending the release out on.
7. Make sure the first paragraph accurately reflects the show(s) you are participating in.
8. Insert your personal artist information. Include new product debut information. Insert a photo.
9. Make sure the final paragraph reflects the show(s) you are participating in.
10. Include the accurate show details.
11. If your press release goes beyond one page. End the first page with –more- centered on the bottom. At then end of the last page center ### on the bottom.
12. Cut and paste the included show information as needed.
13. Distribute to your local newspapers and trade publications. Include the press release as an attachment. Try not to use a font size smaller than 11 point. Make sure to include a photo of your work as a separate attachment in the email. You may also want to include a headshot. In addition, copy the contents of the press release into the body of the email in case the editor doesn’t want to take the time to open the attachment.
14. Watch the publications to see if your information is printed and send a copy to the show office for the show records.
